We conduct policy-relevant applied research on the causes of violent conflict, conflict prevention, conflict transformation and peacebuilding, with a strong focus on local First Nations approaches and how they intersect with introduced conflict transformation processes. Major research areas include state-building, the role of non-state actors, political legitimacy, climate change impacts, customary institutions, and dialogue processes for social change.
We facilitate extensive dialogue processes in various complex contexts, utilizing approaches like appreciative inquiry, facilitative mediation, participatory action research and group dialogue to address cultural complexities and entrenched positions. Our experienced team works to build capacity within participant groups through respectful and flexible approaches.
We design and deliver comprehensive tailored training programs in conflict transformation and peacebuilding for diverse communities, governments and corporate clients. Our training portfolio covers interpersonal communication, mediation, peacebuilding, facilitation, negotiation and leadership and we utilise a variety of models and tools, for example World Café conversations, Do No Harm and Peace and Conflict Impact Assessments. Programs merge interactive skills development with dialogic conversations.
